Wentworth Castle is our final cross of the Winter Series. Please check out the important information below before attending.
Race venue is Wentworth Castle Gardens, Lowe Lane, Stainborough, Barnsley, S75 3EN, follow the brown signs from Junction 37 of the M1 and you can’t go wrong. Please don’t go to Wentworth Woodhouse this is a totally different place!!
Parking will be in the main car park and in the overflow, please follow marshal’s instructions. Please park considerately and we’ll fit everyone in without any issues. This year parking will cost £2 per vehicle, £1 of which will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Cycling on the driveway is prohibited, we had some near misses last year with riders and cars. Please follow the signposted route to the course through the deer park which brings you out near the Serpentine Bridge. Walking down the driveway is fine but anyone riding/warming up on the driveway risks disqualification.
We’re moving the Youth and Adult race starts for this year to avoid riders congregating near the driveway for the same issue.
Please respect the venue, Wentworth Castle Gardens is a National Heritage site and will also be open to the general pubic. As such please do not play loud music or get changed in public or urinate anywhere other than in the facilities provided.
You’ll be able to drop off any pit equipment just after the cattle grid on the driveway, from there it’s a short walk to the pit area.
Signing on will be situated near the Visitor Centre a short walk from the car park, you’ll be able to buy food and drink from the cafe and from the kiosk.
Toilets are in the cafe and round the right hand side of the Visitor Centre up the metal steps. There will be 2 portaloos on the route from the car park to the course.
Dogs must be on leads at all times.
Please keep an eye on your children, there are various hazards around the course e.g. the driveway, the Serpentine bridge and lakes.
