Report: Tim Evans – Wednesday saw another excellently organised Flood lit race by CRC Hull at the Costello stadium, Conditions started off very fast and dry with some late dew causing problems on the later races but lap times were 30seconds faster than the winter races.

In the under 12 race Ozzy Stringer from Richardsons CC led from the start with only Luke Quigley from CRC Hull on the same lap after a furious 6 laps. In the Youth Race Ben Turner was in superb form and led from the start he lapped all the other riders in the field completing 9 laps with the same lap times as the Seniors, Clifton CC’s Ben Wait was second and was only lapped after a fall on the wet grass just before the finish line caused his chain to jam, Third was Cavan Walker also from Clifton CC.

With the flood lights on to ensure a smooth transition into night the main race of 55 riders set off at a frantic pace, a select group of 3 riders formed at the front of the race of Zepnats Nick Barnes, Tom Ramsey of Crosstrax and Nathan Wilson of Wilsons Wheels these 3 were soon lapping riders but the pace proved too much for Wilson and he lost touch eventually finishing 6th. With 3 laps to go Barnes pushed for the win and Ramsey was unable to respond and Barnes soloed to Victory. First Vet home was Chris Clark from York Cycleworks, First Junior Chris Barnes and first lady Rachael Lightfoot from York TRi.

Next race in the series is on Wednesday 24th details on the website and it is well worth the trip down the M62, note for riders the results are currently draft so if you have any questions please drop an e-mail with as much details as you can about where you finished, also the organisers are aiming for you to use the same number for each race so if your details are wrong on the results sheet please can you advise so we can update as some of the names are very hard to read. Numbers also need to be positioned Centrally or slightly to the right on your lower back so the number catchers can read them.
